Assignment Overview
The Methodology Report will prepare you for writing Chapter 3 of your dissertation proposal and help you critically evaluate the steps needed for quantitative research interpretation. The report is the culmination of the work you have completed in all of the previous units in this course. It is recommended that you review Chapters 1 and 2 of the Dissertation Guide: School of Public Service Leadership to help you finalize your report for Unit 10. Assignment Instructions
For this assignment, complete the following draft of your complete methodology report, based on the assignments and discussions from Units 3, 5, 6, and 7.
Include the following sections in your report:
Problem Statement
Create a succinct problem statement. Include a detailed background of the topic and proposed problem.
Purpose Statement
Construct a succinct purpose statement that aligns with the problem statement. Include a detailed purpose section that identifies a quantitative approach that aligns with the problem statement.
Quantitative Research Philosophy
Explain your quantitative research philosophy, including axiological, ontological, epistemological, and methodological assumptions.
Research Questions and Hypotheses
Design research questions and hypotheses that align with the problem and purpose statements.
Write a description of independent and dependent variables.
Operationalize the variables, using an appropriate instrument.
Sampling Strategy
Describe a sampling strategy and calculate the appropriate sample size ( N).
Describe a quantitative approach that adequately answers the research question.
