Chapter 10 introduces the CARE model. Mehta (2017) explained that C, or Core activities, by definition, are not innovative and are therefore not a focus of the creativity and innovation efforts. Therefore, as Mehta (2017) has done, we will focus only on the Advancement, Reframing, and Experiential portions of the CARE model.
We are going to take some subjectivity out of this week’s discussions. Viewing some examples of innovation through an unbiased lens may provide some new clarity. For this week’s discussion, take yourself out of your comfort zone a bit and into another segment of the hospitality industry. For instance, if you work in lodging, don’t consider a lodging scenario for this discussion. Consider other segments of hospitality including Food & Beverage, Lodging, Recreation, Tourism, theme parks, conventions, event planning, sporting events, etc.

Research an example of an innovative idea that was brought to the marketplace and include the following in your discussion:
The title of the article you found,
The link to the article,
Identify whether the innovation was one of Advancement, Reframing, or Experiential, and
Support your analysis with reasoning provided in Mehta’s (2017) descriptions of each type of innovation.
Note: The innovation did not have to be successful.
